20th March 2026

Dear Families,

It has been so very nice to feel the sunshine this week and see those signs of Spring everywhere as we head towards Easter.

This week we enjoyed meeting parents at Sand Hutton’s Parents’ Evening. It is always something I look forward to and the children like to share their successes. It has also been sharing today where there has been more to celebrate including the final decision following assessing Science non-fiction books for the Royal Society.

Last week we also enjoyed a sharing assembly at Warthill and were joined by many family members. Next week will be Parents’ Evening for them and we are all looking forward to welcoming everyone into school.

We do have an opportunity for the above post should anyone be interested or if you know anyone who might be interested. Please share widely, we would really like to fill this post with a suitable person.

Next week we will be inviting you to our Easter services. In both our schools, we will be starting our day in church. If your child attends breakfast club, we will walk them down to church. Please could everyone else drop their child at church. At Sand Hutton the bus children will be dropped off at church if you are unable to accompany them.

Warthill: Wednesday 25th March 9am

Sand Hutton: Thursday 26th March 9am

Also, as next Friday is the last day before the Easter holidays, schools will close at 2pm. There will be no PE lessons in the afternoon or Steel Pans. Please collect your child at 2pm. The schools will re-open on Monday 13th April. I am hoping to have news about the session with Nathan from the LAB Charity in the final email of the term.

Have a lovely weekend,
With every best wish,
Beverley Pawson
