School Uniform

All children in our federation of schools wear their school uniform with pride.  It comprises of

  • Navy (Sand Hutton) or Burgundy (Warthill) sweatshirt or cardigan (those with the school logo on are available from our supplier)
  • Red (Sand Hutton) or While (Warthill and Sand Hutton) polo shirt
  • Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore dress
  • Blue or red checked summer dress

Footwear should be comfortable, sensible and low-heeled, as children will be wearing this footwear for playtimes as well as in class.

We like to see the children tidily and comfortably dressed, with the emphasis being on practical clothing.  We ask that all items of clothing are labelled clearly with your child’s name and checked regularly.

Your child will need a kit for PE comprising of black or navy shorts/leggings, a plain white T-shirt, plimsolls and socks.  Sweatshirt and jogging trousers will be necessary for outdoor sports activities, particularly in winter. Children may wear trainers for outdoor PE.

Quite often, children will work barefoot in the Hall for gymnastics lessons, as this helps to develop an appreciation of form and style.

Please ensure that your child’s PE kit is in school every day. We expect older children to become entirely responsible for remembering to bring their kit to school.

Items of school uniform and PE kit can be purchased through You can also buy replacement book bags from here.

Both schools have active PTAs who support all families by keeping and sharing good quality used uniform. All families take advantage of this. These items are available on request or on display at PTA run events.
