Dear Families,
What a FABULOUS week!
Thank you to Mrs Drysdale for organising an excellent federation Sports’ Day at Sand Hutton, on Monday afternoon. The weather was absolutely perfect in the end and we were all able to enjoy lots of races. Thank you to all those who helped out with finishing lines and stickers as well as all those who were coerced into taking part in the most unconventional three-legged race! Finally, thank you so much for our ice lollies PTA!

On Tuesday, our Year 5 children made us proud when they visited Malton School with Mrs Carroll and Mrs Liston. They fed back, with enthusiasm, on all the exciting activities they had undertaken. Soon, the whole federation will be visited by Malton School when they come to show us their production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

About the visit from Malton School: On Wednesday 9th July both schools will start the day at Sand Hutton. As per the letter about our schools supporting the L.A.B. Charity, there will be a cake stall on arrival. During the morning, the children will be able to watch Malton School’s touring production, after which they will be brought back to Warthill for lunch. There will be opportunities for pupils to purchase cakes before they leave. I have had a couple of requests for a vanilla pod. Please let me know if you would like to support the cake stall and require vanilla for your baking.

Thursday was the whole school visit from Sand Hutton to William’s Den (thank you PTA). If you haven’t already visited, then it is something for the summer holiday list. A huge expanse of countryside with many ‘low tech’ activities for the whole family to enjoy. We hunted for minibeasts, made dens, sandcastles and river trails. We also had fun on the various natural play parks, inside and out and on the zip line. As always, our children made us proud!

Quick reminder SH children from Miss
Heffernan: next Mon (30th) will be the last
chance to choose a new book from the library
so that we can collect all books in by the end of
term.

Have a super weekend everyone!

With every best wish,

Beverley Pawson
