Dear Families,
Sorry that this letter comes today instead of yesterday. We had a SIAMS inspection at Warthill yesterday, as well as Parents’ Evening and so my time was taken up with the inspector all day. Thank you to anyone who offered support yesterday and/or agreed to speak with the inspector. The report will be published some time in November and I will be able to share the outcome with everyone then.
Our Harvest services were lovely opportunities to come together in thankfulness and song. Thank you to all who attended and your generosity. We will be able to send Nathan, LAB Charity around two hundred pounds. I know that this will be huge amount of money for him and it will make a difference. He will share how he is able to put this money to good use.
Some staffing updates: Mrs Drysdale has returned slowly over the last couple of weeks and we are hoping that she will be fighting fit after the half term break!
Mrs Naylor will be seen more frequently after the half term holiday although Mrs Hayden will continue to teach Junior Class. We look forward to seeing more of Mrs Naylor as she returns to us in small steps. Thank you for your continued support.
Miss Heffernan is still very unwell and so we have taken steps to ensure continuity over the next half term in school. As yet, what we are sure about is that we don’t expect to see her in the immediate future. We are hopeful that this may change. However, so that the children, and you, know how the half term will look, Miss Mackie, who has got to know Class 3 and your children well this half term, will be with us until the Christmas holidays. She will also hold a parents’ evening after the half term and discuss the progress your children have made so far this academic year. Being able to plan to have the same person covering Miss Heffernan’s absence is a huge relief to us as I am sure it is to you.
Thank you for supporting the book fair in both our schools.
We hope that you are looking forward to a restful half term.
With every best,
Beverley Pawson
