Dear Families,

I have been asked to share the following link with you:

Firstly, I have been made aware that the switch we have been forced to make from our previous school operating system, Scholarpack, to Arbor may be causing some issues with receiving emails into junk rather than your ordinary inbox. We have asked if there is anything IT support can do to help resolve this. However, it looks like it is a case of clicking ‘trust sender’ on any school email and this should resolve the issue going forwards. We would hate for people to miss out on any communications.

I must next thank FOWs at Warthill for the planning that went into a very successful Summer Fair, raising approximately £1400 for the benefit of our children. The fiver challenge, which the juniors enjoy, contributed over £300 to this incredible total. The day itself was kind to us weather wise and saw members of the school community, local community and further afield join us. I know that these things don’t just happen and would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved!

It is Sports’ Day next week, fingers crossed. The weather over the weekend looks like it will dry the field and the lines are drawn in readiness. Given the many things we have to fit in at this time in the year, we will go ahead with this if at all possible. The bus will leave Sand Hutton shortly after half twelve for a one o’clock start at Warthill on the field. Please bring chairs for your comfort. Mrs Roughley hasn’t booked a bus back as most children are collected from the event, however, please could you let her know if your child/children will need transporting back to school and we can see whether in fact arrangements for transport need to be made.

Finally, despite the weather yesterday, Class 2 enjoyed a day at Caste Howard Arboretum. (I am reserving judgement on how much the adults enjoyed the driving rain and Baltic temperatures!) As always, our children made us all very proud and were complimented many times by the staff on duty. I think their favourite activity was pond dipping: we almost didn’t need a pond!

Have a lovely weekend,

With every best wish,

Beverley Pawson
